The Wilderness Effect

Dear Friend,

In her article “Wilderness Effect: The Case for Spending More Than a Week in the Wild,” Jasmine Wilhelm, an English teacher and part-time river guide, writes about the benefits of extended stays in the wilderness. She writes, “After three days in nature, the health and social benefits start to manifest…After 10 days, people begin to feel more alive…The endless to-dos seem to melt away. A mindfulness and presentness grows. Minds start to quiet and clear. Pre-existing pressures and stressors start to evaporate.”

Please give as generously as you can so that more young people can feel the rejuvenating power of the wilderness.
